  2. Thanks for the update on Six Main, which must be recent. No doubt the wondrous chef was compelled to expand her menu in order to expand her customer base, else she would have gone out of business, a fork in the road that ION, too, chose 13 years ago, and ION continued serving fish for 8 or 9 years thereafter.

    • Cancel what I wrote about Six Main adding fish to its menu in order to avert closing down. Today, Sept 26, is its last day open. On a brighter note, this likely will better assure the financial stability of nearby ION and G-Zen, as I suspected that this area could not support three stellar veg restaurants. And by the way, having one month ago eliminated cow cheese as an option, ION is now all vegan again. But call before you go, because ION is still temporarily closed due to a fire in its building a week ago.

  3. I am looking for a vegan/vegitarian looking for someone to cater my wedding next year with custom food and deserts please help !!

  4. Don’t forget under the “Grocery” category that Mrs. Green’s in Stamford and Fairfield has some awesome vegan prepared food in their deli area.

  6. In your list – “Ibiza Tapas – 93 Mill Plain Rd, Danbury 203.616.5731” but when I click on the link, I m taken to a restaurant in Hamden. I am confused! Otherwise, a very enjoyable list. Thanks for putting it together. 🙂

  7. You guys should check out The Green Granary in New Milford, CT. They use local ingredients and have many vegan/vegetarian options. The food is always amazing, and they have daily specials catered to what is currently in season. It is one of my favorite places!

  8. can you add the address of the Green Granary in New Milford CT? Thank you for all your help with getting the word out with this list, and maybe start listing whether they use organic or GMO free food as time marches on and health evolves with proper ag practices and eating straight from Mother Earth?

  9. In the Vegan Friendly market section you may want to check out New Morning in Woodbury. They moved a few years ago into a new space on North main with some limited seating (but more than they had when they were on South Main).

  10. Hardcore Sweet has both vegan and gluten free cupcakes in the case everyday. They also do custome cakes that cater to both!
Address is 20 main street, oakville, in the old pin shop! 🙂

  11. Please provide info on healthy eating establishments in the milford,ct. area. I’m most interested in eating those foods that would possibly counteract chemotherapy medications nasty unwanted side effects. Thank You,MK

  13. There’s also Pure Alchemy Juice Bar & Cafe in Wallingford. They have juices, smoothies, tonics, fire ciders and raw desserts and now a decent sized menu. They are awesome and definitely worth a mention! 🙂

  14. The new Jordan’s furniture store restaurant located in New Haven next to Ikea have veggie pizza and vegan cheese! Lots of toppings and gluten free also.
    food markets :
Mrs Greens: Fairfield + New Canaan
    B Fresh: Fairfield

    Fragrant basil juice bar: Norwalk

  15. The Sweet Spot in New Milford offers vegan baked goods—usually 4 different items or so. They even kept them in a separate corner of their display case at the top, and no risk of touching any non-vegan baked goods. (I find that the Whole Foods near us does a poor job with this.) Plus they do custom orders of vegan cakes, cupcakes and cake pops!

Green Granary also has a number of vegan options on their menu, including all of their soups. They have a vegan scone, but it is not recommended. The owner is interested in expanding her vegan options, as well!

  16. Tibetan Kitchen in Middletown has several vegetarian appetizers, soups, and entrees. Some are vegan too, I think. We’ve enjoyed eating there several times.

    • Their menu is actually almost 50% vegan! most of their “vegetarian dishes” are vegan and they clearly mark the ones that contain non-vegan products like cheese or milk. Tibetan Kitchen is an awesome restaurant that definitely should be added to this list!
