Fuel Coffee Shop – 516 Chapel Street, New Haven 203.772.0330 – Word on the street is that this spot has the best coffee in New Haven (not a small feat!) and has a pretty tasty veg*n breakfast and lunch menu to boot! There’s no website or menu online, however, from the Facebook page, people are loving the tofu scramble wrap, “b”lt, grilled cheese, soups, and vegan cupcakes. Options include salads, bowls, burritos and wraps with quinoa, fresh veggies, tofu or falafel, all fully customizeable. Soups, smoothies and juices also found on a large menu. Mamoun’s Falafel Restaurant – 85 Howe Street, New Haven – We would be remiss if we did not include Mamoun’s, the venerable New Haven falafel spot and go-to for late-night Yale students. Mamoun’s has a large vegetarian menu, including falafel (duh), baba ganouj, grape leaves, stuffed eggplant, and more. Great hummus, and the veg combo plate is a filling dinner choice. Casual.

Pizzetta – 7 Water Street, Mystic (860) 536-4443 – Pizzetta has a typical pizza place menu – salads, garlic bread, wings. But, wait.. does that say “vegan” wings?! This spot boasts a full menu of pizzas made with a vegan crust (vegan/gluten free also available) topped with Daiya, with other topping options including Lightlife Fakin Bacon and Gardein Chicken.
